Friday 1st March get together

It's Derby Dabblers on Friday.  Being the first Friday of the month we shall have our get together again.   It is still at the same place, St. Martin's Church Hall, Flint Street, Allenton, Derby, DE24 9BG.  Its still at the same time 6.30 - 9.30p.m. and the price has remained the same at £3.00 for now.

As usual, there will be a theme for the evening but, you dont have to follow the theme if you dont want to.  The theme for this get together is Easter, or you can do eggs, bunnies, chocolate, anything at all to do with Easter.  You can start/finish a scrapbook page which includes an Easter theme or have a stab at a card.  Swap stamps for ten minutes and take impressions of other peoples stamps, wander round see what everyone is doing and, if you have time before dabblers, make something "Easter related" and show us how you did it?

We are also going to have a play with Iris Folding.  Do you remember this? have you got anything to do with Iris Folding lurking away in the back of a cupboard somewhere?  Give it a dusting down and bring it along. Have you done this in the past and know how its done?  Perhaps you can tell us what we should be doing.  Hopefully, a few people will know and be able to help those that dont.

Now you really dont have to do any of these, if you dont want to.  Come along for a natter, catch up with old friends, make some new ones.  Whether you are new to crafting or an old hand (that is not being agist),  bring some knitting, or sewing or something along that you like to do.

FREEBIES
Do you have some crafting bits that you no longer want and you would like them to go to a new home.  Pop them on the table and everyone can have a rummage through and take home what they want.  Anything left over will be given to a fantastic cause.

SELLING STUFF
If you have some crafting items that you would like to sell, please do bring them with you, someone else may wish to purchase from you.

THINKING CAPS
Could everyone please bring their thinking caps.  Is there something you would like to learn? something you could demonstrate? I am hoping that we can have a list of things that we are going to do in the future, for the next 6 months at least.
GRANT FOR DERBY DABBLERS
We are well on our way with the application for a grant to pay for the room.  We have a meeting in a couple of weeks to go through the next step in the process and I shall keep you all informed of what the outcome is. The aim is to get the room paid for, up front, for a year so that everyone that comes along doesnt have to pay.  Keep your fingers crossed.

It would be great if you could bring your own mug/cup with you as well as a badge. If you do forget, there will be plenty of cups in the kitchen cupboard.

Let me know if you are coming and, if you can be there for half 6 to help set up the tables, that would be fantastic.

I know that there will be one or two new people coming along and as usual, I know that you will make them feel very welcome.

Friday 1st February

I made the majority of this is the card at our first Derby Dabblers meeting our first of 2013.  It was well attended and there was lost of crafty chatter and food too as this was our belated Christmas fuddle night as the get together had to be cancelled :(

We welcomed 2 new ladies to the group - Gina & Pauline who joined us from the Long Eaton area

February Fuddle

Earlier this evening saw the first 2013 get together of the Derby Dabblers and it was a lovely evening.  Unfortunately not everyone made it and you were missed.

We all laughed a lot, caught up with everyone that we haven't seen for months and some of us even made cards.

We had a couple of new members and we hope to see them again next month.

The theme for the evening was time and flower soft.  Now we dont all stick to the theme and we dont all do anything at all but some ladies made some lovely cards.   Debbie, one of our avid scrapbookers did some wonderful pages.

Here are a few photos to show you how we spend our first Friday of each month

I think I managed to catch everyone.

If you would like to join us next month, please do, the more the merrier.
