Latest creation

I made this card yesterday for my Mum's birthday as she was 84 yesterday.

I chose the colours because black and yellow are best for those with sight problems & I wanted to try and be bright and cheerful as she is in hospital & not at all well at the moment.

My card and all those she recieved yesterday bought a smile to her face and they are now blue tacked on the wall in front of her so she can see them all.

I am back!! so run for cover lol

Hi
I'm back from my holiday in France. We had some exellent weather, lots of wine and 'Normandie cidre' and fantastic food. We had mainly a quiet time but from the site we could walk along side Lac Juanay to an Auberge for lunch of gallettes and a few drinks (Tracey thinks all my breaks are spent in places that deliver alcohol of one sort or another !!! lol) We visited a vine yard and tasted some fantastic wines and bought 6 bottles of pink sparkling rose. We also went on the 'Balade en Vélo-Rail à Commequiers' a 10 km trip ride on a bycle that was on an old rail way track from Commequiers to Coex, except when we started and saw the trip markers on the side of the rail it was 10km there and 10km back - luckily we had Sam & Ash with us so we all took turns at peddling!! We had to open level crossings at various points - Joe thought he was 20 again and leapt from the velo and fell cutting his leg quite badly - but no broken bones thankfully. We had a picnic at Coex before our return journey. We had a fanstastic afternoon and never laughed so much!!

Here are a few ...

cards I've made recently for challenges and birthdays. I thought I'd share them with you as not everyone has a blog and not everyone visits mine. And it's good to share as you get a more varied selection of comments.
This chap was for a few challenges I think, but the main one a colour combo of pink and green. An odd combo to put Edwin on but I think it works quite well.

This is one of my fav stamps and I don't use it enough. It takes ages to cut the flutters out but it's worth it. I entered it for a couple of challenges, but it's a test piece really as I wanted to see how it would turn out. There are a few things I would change so watch this space.

Finally my MIL's birthday card. This is another set I adore but don't use enough. Poppies are one of her favourite flowers so I spent an afternoon trying to get the balance right for this card and ruined 3 fronts in the process with various ink pad accidents. But it turned out ok in the end.
Well ta for taking a look and any comments are welcome. See you on Friday at St Michael's.

Very Quiet

It is very quiet on here so I thought I would add a counter just to see how many people are actually visiting, hope that is okay with you all.

If there are any dabblers that are reading the blog who would like to contribute just shout, that will waken everyone up.

Dont forget, you dont have to post JUST about crafting, it can be anything at all....thats legal.

Friday Night's anticss

Well, not antics really but here are some pictures of us on the night.

Unfortunately, we never actually got round to doing any
embossing.  There was lots of stamping, colouring and cutting going on though.

Diane and Tracey with their Father's Day cards.  I didnt manage to get pictures of all the other cards that were made so, ladies, please post them here when you get chance.

Did everyone get their discount cards?? If not please let me know.

Please feel free to add links on here to your personal blogs as well as your email details.

I look forward to seeing you all at Pam's Stampin Up party next week.

Do you fancy a challenge ...

It's all very quiet on here so I was wondering if anyone would be up for a fortnightly challenge. I think the only prize we could offer is that the winner chooses the 2 challenges for the next month and creates a sample card for them.

I apreciate that not everyone as all equipment and craft goodies available, so the challenges would need to be general ie: sketches, colour combo's, themes, shapes etc ...

I have asked Tracey if this is ok. So what do you think ?

Leave a comment below letting us know what you think and any ideas you have.

Thought I'd share ...

a few bits I've made recently.

I made this for a challenge and nearly used ALL SU items, but the string is from my stash. (79p from Wilko's). Sorry Tracey.

This was made for my friends house warming pressie. It was designed and cut out by a good friend of mine called Joe. She designs lots of these for us to do.

This is the card DS wanted me to make for his friends birthday.
It went down a treat, he really loved it.

And finally I made this for my niece who's just turned 11 and is moving to a new house soon so I thought she could put this in her new bedroom.
I think I've made this post a bit higgledy piggledy. Sorry. Thank you for looking.

June Derby Dabblers

Hello Ladies,

I hope you've all had a nice weekend despite the weather! Firstly I'd like to say a big 'thank-you' to Paula for her delicious Strawberry Cupcakes! I took one home for hubby and he thought they were fantastic! I'm afraid when its my turn to bring the cakes it'll be Mr Kiplings finest.

Anyway, this is the card I almost made at Dabblers. I took it apart when I got home, made a few modifications and now I'm happy with it!

If you want to see anymore of the cards I've made recently you can find them on my new blog, Handmade by Becky (original name eh?)

See you all at Ilkeston on the 19th!

Derby Dabblers Pictures

We had a Derby Dabblers meeting last Friday which was a really enjoyable evening, as they always are.  Quite a few people were missing but we hope to catch up with you all at the next get together.

The theme for last Friday was shrink plastic which we did get round to, eventually.  Here are a couple of photos that were taken.

The first is from this (the large yellow golfer) to this
the fisherman. The fisherman is the size of the image once heated
with the heat gun.

During the heating process he curled, blew away and curled some more.  Liz finally tamed him

and this is what he turned out like.  There is also the rose that
Pam shrank

Paula gave us all a treat as well with her scrummy  cupcakes.  I do hope that you can see the glitter on them.  Thank you Paula, they were amazing.

A big thanks also goes to Karen for being the photographer on the evening.  I forgot to take my camera.... typical.

We all look forward to seeing the finished projects that were started on the night.

Have a great week, whatever you are up to

Hi Girls,

Here is the card I made last night at the Derby Dabblers, just finished it this am, time just flew by last night, but it was a lovely evening and Paula made some fantastic fairy cakes with glitter on, very yummy, im sure there will be some piccies soon.

The card was made following a sketch from http://www.fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/ #55 I have used a forever friends stamp coloured in with copics and layered the top half with foam dots, the patterened paper is from Bo Bunny and the card, ribbon, punch and sentiment stamp are all stamping up. I have done it for a Fathers Day card for hubby from my little Teddy, hope he likes it. If you would like to see some of my other cards I have just recently set up my blog

See you on the 19th at Ilkeston,

ttfn
