Coffee

As we've not been able to have a Christmas Fuddle this year due to unforseen circumstances - anyone fancy meeting for coffee at Little Eaton garden centre on December 22nd around 10am or will everyone be too busy?

No Dabblers this Friday 7th December

DERBY DABBLERS CHRISTMAS FUDDLE - POSTPONED

Unfortunately the Church Hall is occupied on Friday and we cant use it for our Christmas Fuddle.  A majority vote has got us having a New Year Fuddle instead so on Friday 1st February we shall have our next get together.  I shall miss everyone this Friday.

I will have to try and get addresses as I have lots and lots of Christmas cards for all the Dabblers.

I will post again next week.

Friday 7th December

Ladies,

I know its early but the dates creep up on me faster than anything so I thought I would send the email out and you can put the date on your calendar.

Friday 7th December will be Derby Dabblers.  We will meet up for the last time in 2012, the next get together after this will be February 2013.As usual
we shall be at St. Martins Church Hall, Flint St, Allenton DE24 9BG.

The theme for the evening will be Christmas stamping.  Bring along any stamps that you are willing to share, card to stamp out on to, ink, cleaners and
anything else you may need to make some MORE Christmas cards or even a scrapbook page in readyness for the photographs you will take.  Not a paper
crafter?  Then get out the bling of jewelery, the knitting needles or come along for a good old chin wag.  There will be lots of people to talk to.

Dont forget your name badges and a mug if you have one.

It would be fantastic if everyone that comes brings something nice to eat with them, sweet or savory and we shall have a Fuddle.  I shall set the
table up and you can just help yourselves.  If you cant bring anything, please dont let it put you off from coming along.

If you could let me know if you can make it, we will know how many chairs and tables to set up.  Hoping to see you in a few weeks.

Derby Dabblers Friday 5th October

Its the Derby Dabblers get together this Friday, 5th October.  We shall be at St. Martin's Church Hall from 6.30 and in the 3 hours that we are there, hopefully we shall all be able to catch up with all the news, its weeks since we got together.  I have been asked to show you how to make these Jubilees.

If you can bring a sheet of 12 x 12, that will make 4.  You will need sticky tape and a crimper.  I shall bring 2 crimpers with me.

The theme for the night is autominal which will be a colour theme of browns, oranges and reds.

We shall also have a go at making a baby chest card like this one.

Please bring:

2 sheets of white A4,
1 sheet of Pink or Blue A4
Ruler, pencil and rubber
teddy or trains or pram stamp,
blue or pink and black ink,
scissors,
score board if you have one
pink or blue brads

If you have any of the punches, please bring them with you too but if not, I shall have mine.

Can anyone bring in some cakes/biscuits?  If so just let me know.  It would be appreciated if you could let me know if you can come along just so that I know that there will be enough of us.

Really looking forward to seeing you

Saturday Card-making class

Hello all
A wonderful afternoon of card-making thanks to Tracey and what a lovely venue too.
I was photographer for the session, although I had an apprentice who also took a few.

I'm sure Tracey will fill in the details and add the finished cards piccies.
It was a lovely afternoon and great to see so many faces.
Bye for now

Spondon Dabblers does it have a future?

Hi Ladies

Spondon Dabblers does it have a future?

August Spondon Dabblers was cancelled due to not enough people confirming their attendance to make it viable but when Anne cancelled the booking it because weren’t able to give 1 months’ notice of cancellation we had to pay for the room hire – which Anne did & she is now out of pocket.
As you know we are non-profit making don’t have any funds to cover these sort of costs.

Because of this Anne has cancelled all the bookings for the rest of the year.  I have offered Anne 50% of the cost for last Friday’s hire.

I am willing to organise these Friday nights but would require another person who would help when I’m on holiday or can’t make it due to work commitments.

but before I do this I need to know:

·         from you all whether you want to meet in the 3rd Friday of the month?

·         just continue with meeting  once a month on the 1st Friday at St Martin’s at Allenton?

·         Is anyone willing to help me with the Spondon Dabblers if there is enough interest for it to continue?

·

Please let me know your thought on this asap

Little Boxes

Good evening ladies,
The last Dabblers was great fun.
I have been adapting the original design of the little box, I added a drawer!
It didn't go quite as well as I would have liked, but it's only a first attempt.

Hopefully I will be at the Spondon Dabblers this friday and will have perfected the drawer :)

August Derby Dabblers Photos

These are a few photographs from our last Derby Dabblers get together at St. Martin's Church Hall.  I am not the best photographer and I often forget that I have a camera in my bag but, better late that never with the photos.

We made a stunning box and hopefully, we can get a few more photos on here of how all the boxes turned out.

Gramdcalibur/Cuttlebug

Can anyone tell me if I can use the origianal metal backed Cuttlebug cutting dies (I have alphabets) in my new Grand Calibur machine.  I have purchased the raspberry adapter plate, but no mention is ever made of these metal backed dies being used,  They were very expensive amd I don't thinkl spellbinders do alphabets.   I would like to use them with my new machine.  Has anyone any experience please.
